Southern Affairs publishes investigative reporting, historical research, and critical reviews about current events and topics in Latin America.

The site was founded in 2006 by Nathan Gill, PhD, a professor of history and former bureau chief and emerging markets reporter for Bloomberg News in Ecuador and Chile.
